The Hunt .

On Monday afternoon, we arrived home from our annual tree hunt with a beautiful eight-footer in tow. Later that evening, we decorated our noble with favorite photographs from the past year. It's become a tradition and a loved one at that. This year, Graeme was tickled pink about the photographs, naming the places and memories as he hung them on the tree. It almost made me teary, this curly-headed boy of mine so grown up, remembering places, faces, and feelings. Jobie rode his fire engine back and forth as Steve and I strung the white lights and the camera clicked, once each minute, for forty full frames.

Sitting here, while all the house is quiet, with the Christmas tree all glowy with memories, it makes me contemplate, again, the goodness of God and his care for us over the last twelve months. Wherever this post finds you, I hope that you too are reminded of God's love, grace, and goodness in your life. Happy weekending, friends.

    1. Last year, I remember Graeme really getting excited, for the first time in his little life, about Christmas. But I feel that this year his excitement has doubled. And boy is that a beautiful thing to see. Love this little guy. Love you too, pal!

    1. Thank you, Danielle! I think I got the idea from an old Pottery Barn magazine. Like, circa 2008 or something. I'm glad it stuck with me! Merry Christmas to you, too!
