Even though I fully understand that Christmas is not things, I equally comprehend that in my two year old's mind, Christmas is everything around him. It's what he sees. It's the tangible. I loved reading this article. The author beautifully writes what I have briefly tried to explain.
These photographs are just little snippets of the visible Christmas-ness in our home. I would have also posted a picture of the sweet nativity set that my mom recently sent to Graeme, but the animals have been missing ( because he loves to carry them with him ev.er.y.where. he goes! ) since the package was opened. Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus were moved to another location--sitting on the edge of a lamp--and all that was left in the original placement of the nativity are the three wisemen, which Graeme also turned them all around to stare at a painting of mistle-toe. Poor guys.
Merry, merry Christmas from my home to yours..............
p.s. I did indeed spray paint a fake green tree off-white. ( see first photograph ) I love it. It isn't perfect, but for seven bucks, I'll take it, wink wink!
